Caloric Intake

Calories In = Calories Out is one tool that we can use to maintain our current weight. A common question is; how many calories should I be consuming? It depends on many factors, including your activity level, gender, height and weight, age, pregnant or lactating. There are many tools to help calculate our daily caloric needs, and here is one of my favorite resources; Daily Needs Calculator from Nutrition Data. One can enter additional daily exercise, to get a more accurate number of calories to be consumed (and that are expended through the exercise(s) added). I also like how this system breaks down the suggested daily macronutrients (carbohydrate and protein) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals).
