WE were lucky and I often remember my refugee days, and assimilating to a new continent and culture. I would never change the past as it has made me who I am today, and it reminds me that we are ALL fortunate in America. Positive energy and optimism go a long way and can overcome any barriers. Be happy, be thankful, be present in each day, hour and minute whenever possible!

Home in the USA!
Today marks my 23rd anniversary of my first flight and stepping foot on American soil. My parents and I had a successful escape from the former Czechoslovakia, before the revolution and before the Berlin Wall came down.
