Two Months Postpartum

Before baby, each month blended into the next, but not so now! Our second month after giving birth was much different than the first, each day vividly ingrained in my mind. My body had lost 30 pounds, and healed splendidly! Yay! Nourishment, physical activity, and optimism that I maintained during my entire pregnancy, truly paid off, as well as the help and care I received during the first month postpartum to rest and recover. I still have pounds to shed and parts to tone, but in time and with a healthy meal plan and exercise, I will be a fit Mama.

I must admit, that after not exercising for weeks, to get back into a routine was extremely difficult. And now with a baby in my arms, I feel like I could create many more excuses! Well, finally, I began scheduling weekly 'appointments' with myself to go to yoga, go for walks outside with my baby (weather permitting), and start a cardio and weight training routine 2 to 3 times a week. After one week, I feel significantly more energized and balanced in my new life role. It helps me to have a coach (my husband) by my side to lure me with a sweet smile and a cup of coffee in the morning. Exercising with a partner is motivating, and makes me accountable; plus if I get it done in the morning, I don't have a chance to put if off and change my mind during the day. Like many habits, once it's formed, it is addicting and uneasily changed.
