It's a Lifestyle, not a diet...

Probably one of the most common resolutions for a new year is to get fit, healthy, and to shed a few or many pounds. This one is on my list every year in some form! As we age, our metabolism slows-down, and the weight may creep up and stick around. A few pounds a year, times several years, can equal sizes bigger as well as some potential health risks appearing on the resume. Here are a few things that I do to help me get back on track or stay where I am:
  • Making my health and wellness a priority
  • Planning meals for the day/week
  • Portion size control
  • Drinking lots of water
  • Food log and counting calories (monthly checkup)
  • A mix of an active lifestyle and exercise routines
  • Creating a support network
These are just seven things that I believe are important, that I will be elaborating on in future posts. Changing our patterns by incorporating good daily habits, will make health less of a chore, and more of a way of life. A new year gives us an opportunity to change something; and so does a new month and every day!
