- Gratefulness for my healthy, strong and balanced mind, body and spirit
- Savoring every bite; eating slowly, using smaller plates & utensils
- Eating several small meals daily; never starving myself all day before a feast
- Beginning with a salad/soup or sensible appetizer
- Drinking many of glasses of water during the day ~ hydration!
- Portioning my plate in quarters; lean protein, complex carbohydrates (vegetables), grains, and starchy/other food
- Recording in a food diary/spreadsheet; food intake for a few days per month to 'check' my caloric, macro & micro nutrient intake
- Cooking with lots of herbs and spices for flavor and health benefits
- Being active ~ getting daily physical and mental exercise
- Breathing deeply and taking a time-out to rest, sleep, and simply be
- Appreciating all that I do for myself, others and the world
