VT Food Basket

For the first time this year, I participated in a local food program that united multiple farmers that created a fantastic share of seasonal, local, and fresh food products for participants. We purchased a small vegetable and a small fruit share, that was weekly acquired without any effort of growing! One could choose from a variety of shares including, various meats, cheeses, and more.

The Food Basket is Intervale Center's Food Hub Project, helping farmers market their products and creating a pledge from the community to support local farms by becoming members or 'shareholders.' We received nourishing food at a fantastic cost that saved me money, time and gas this summer but not having to drive to the supermarket or farms. The Food Basket is offering a winter food basket, including shares of vegetables, meats, cheeses, apple pies/cider, eggs and maple syrup! Check out their webiste for more information! The deadline for the winter share is November 5th!!
