Belly Bowl

In mid November, I had the pleasure of having my first Belly Bowl created. At 38 weeks pregnant, Jen Labie from Leaning Tree Studio and Evolution Yoga & PT, used my baby full belly to create two pottery bowls as a wonderful reminder and keepsake of our second pregnancy. The clay on my belly was cool and as she shaped the mold, it felt like a soothing massage!

The whole process took less than an hour long, and was completely comfortable and fun! Now we are waiting for the finished bowls (takes about 6 weeks) to dried and painted. My husband and daughter came with me, and they were sweet observers and helped choose different colors for the two pieces.

Oh I can't wait to see our Belly Bowls! And they are completely customized, not only with your belly size and shape, colors chosen, but also an engraving at the bottom with the baby's name and birth date! The pictures are from a previous client as we forgot to take our own pictures, so don't forget your camera. I will certainly post our finished Belly Bowls next year... For more information or to schedule your Belly Bowl, email Jen Labie!

I LOVE this - My children are 29 and 18 - I did a belly cast when i was pregnant with my youngest and now I feel like getting it out and painting it and also making a clay cast bowl - Thank you for the inspiration!!
